- Affordability 15%8/10
Up to two free youth Unlimited passes with an adult Unlimited. Under 4 ride free. Independent, not Epic.

Uncrowded because they limit day tickets. Timberline vs Hidden Lake (8,900 ft) is a real 8am decision.
- Non-ski 10%3/10
Night skiing at Sundown. Ogden is the town. Eden is not a village product.
- Travel 5%8/10
Their blog: 55 miles from SLC, 35 minutes from Ogden, 15 from Eden. SR-158 is a 14% grade.
Our take
The free kids pass is real. The family mountain is not. Powder's own site: no formal daycare, 15% beginner, group lessons from 5, 3-year-olds in a 2-hour private. If you ski Eden already, take the pass. If you are choosing a first Utah week with a toddler, this page exists so you skip it on purpose.
Perfect if
- You already ski Ogden Valley and the free youth pass is sitting there.
- Kids 7+ who can handle a 15% beginner map.
- Night skiing as the outing, not a fly-in first week.
Skip if
- A toddler who needs daycare — they say they don't have it.
- A never-ever week sold on a free-pass headline.
- Anyone who needed a village, a carpet campus, or Ikon.
Biggest tradeoffA real free youth season pass on a mountain that is not a family campus — no daycare, 15% beginner, independent.
Ski school deep dive
Ski school is 25% of Family Score — the heaviest weight, on purpose. This mountain: 5/10. How we score.
Group from 5, private from 3. No 3–4 group. Prices unpublished. A school for people who already planned to ski here, not a first-timer campus.
Researched from official pages and 2026 reporting. Fields marked unverified are unpublished by the resort — we will not invent an age, a class cap, or a price.

- Location
- Sundown / Hidden Lake are the beginner lifts the resort names. Night product is Sundown and Sun Tunnel, 4–9pm.
- Progression
- Their beginner blog and their terrain pie chart are not the same document. 15% beginner, 56% advanced on powdermountain.com/mountain.
- Specialized
- Powder Ski & Ride Team / Intro to Freeride from ages 5–6 — weekend season products, not drop-in daycare.

- Season programs
- All-Mountain and Freeride Team packages with published season prices on the team page — not a visitor toddler product.
Childcare
Powder Mountain's own family-trip blog: no formal daycare. Lessons and 'family zones' are the substitute they offer. We will not list a crib.
Beginner terrain
- Carpets: Surface lifts exist; public chairs are five. Start at Sundown or Hidden Lake — their words.
- Learning area: Gentle greens near the base, uncrowded because they limit day tickets. Still 15% of the map.
- Greens: Named. Not abundant.
- Progression: The new DMI terrain is 1,000+ acres of advanced. A free pass does not flatten that.
On mountain
On-mountain lodges (Timberline, Hidden Lake). Eden is the grocery run.
Timberline is the main lodge. Hidden Lake sits at 8,900 feet. Do not mix them up with a 4-year-old at 8am.
Not a village. Condos and Ogden Valley rentals. Ogden is the real town.
Non-ski
- Night skiing
- Ogden downtown on a rest day
Kids programs
- Youth season pass 12 and under with adult Unlimited (up to two)
- Night skiing at Sundown
- Ski & Ride Team (weekends)
Getting there

They say so. Traction is not optional. Free Powder shuttle from Eden. UTA bus from Ogden — free with a valid Powder ticket or pass.

- The child product can be $0 on the pass. Adults and lessons still exist. We will not invent a window four-pack.
- Pass
- Independent. No Epic, no Ikon. The 26/27 kids-ski-free hook is a season pass, not a walk-up coupon.
What six days on snow costs
Family of four: window tickets × 6, rentals × 6, one 3-day kids' lesson block. Not a week — lodging isn't in our data, so it isn't in this number.
This page doesn't have dollar ranges we can add. We will not invent a six-day total.
This mountain is on the 26/27 kids-ski-free list — read the cutoff before you plan a week around it. Kids ski free: the list and the fine print.
