Best Utah Ski Resorts for Toddlers (2026-27): Childcare, Lesson Ages, Beginner Terrain

Which Utah ski resorts work with a toddler: childcare ages, youngest lesson age and beginner terrain at 8 Wasatch resorts, each row sourced and dated.

Short answer: If your toddler won't ski all day, pick Deer Valley or Park City Mountain. Both have childcare visitors can book, and both start group lessons at age 3. Snowbird also has licensed childcare (6 weeks to 12 years) and a Chickadee group lesson for ages 3-4 from Dec 12, but its terrain is harder for little kids. If your 3 or 4 year old will take a lesson and you don't need daycare, Snowbasin has a Mini Cubs half-day group lesson for ages 3-4, and Brighton has the gentlest learning terrain on our list once kids reach its group age of 4. Alta and Powder Mountain publish no childcare and are better once kids are older.

I'm a dad based in PA, and Park City and the Wasatch are this site's home-mountain focus. This table is built from our childcare dataset and each resort's own pages. If a resort doesn't publish a fact, the cell says "Not published, check with the resort" instead of a guess.

How I'd pick, by toddler

  • Under 2, not skiing yet: Deer Valley (from 2 months), Park City (from 6 weeks) or Snowbird (from 6 weeks). Book care the same day you book lodging. Deer Valley's infant rate is $220 / $230 / $235 a day (Regular / High / Holiday, 26/27), last checked 2026-10-30 against https://www.deervalley.com/things-to-do/activities/childrens-center. Park City's Little Adventures is $238 full day / $208 half day for ages 6 weeks to 23 months, and $233 / $203 for ages 2 to 6, plus $45 for extended hours, last checked 2026-10-30 against https://www.parkcitymountain.com/plan-your-trip/childcare.aspx. Snowbird doesn't publish a price, so book through Superior Childcare.
  • Age 3, first lesson: Deer Valley or Park City for a group lesson plus a childcare backup on the same mountain. Snowbasin's Mini Cubs half-day group (ages 3-4) if you don't need daycare. At Powder Mountain, a 3 or 4 year old can only take the 2-hour private.
  • Age 4, ready for a group: Brighton is our best Beginner score and starts groups at 4. Alta's kids' groups start at 4 too, but Alta scores lower on beginner terrain and has no childcare.
  • Toddler plus an older sibling who rips: Park City or Snowbird, where the older kid has terrain and the toddler has care.

More on the age itself: skiing with toddlers and babies and toddlers. Planning dates? See the Wasatch opening day guide.

Quick answers

Deer Valley and Park City Mountain, because both have childcare visitors can book and group lessons from age 3. Snowbird also has licensed childcare for 6 weeks to 12 years.

Which Utah ski resorts have daycare for babies?

Park City Mountain's Little Adventures takes kids from 6 weeks, Snowbird's Superior Childcare from 6 weeks, and Deer Valley's Children's Center from 2 months.

What age can kids start ski school in Utah?

Group lessons start at age 3 at Deer Valley, Park City Mountain and Snowbasin, and at Snowbird from Dec 12 (Chickadee, ages 3-4). Brighton and Alta start groups at 4. Powder Mountain starts groups at 5, with a private-only option for ages 3-4.
