Our take
We already published Vail. Beaver Creek is the family-shaped sibling: more easy terrain, an actual play school number, a village that works at 4pm. It will not win a budget argument with Purgatory. It will win 'I already own Epic and I have a 4-year-old.'
Best for: Epic families with kids under 10 who can pay for the village.

Best time: Midweek January, after a night not at 8,000 feet if the kids are little. Avoid: Window tickets. Comparing it to Brighton on price.
Ski school deep dive
Ski school is 25% of Family Score — the heaviest weight, on purpose. This mountain: 8/10.
The school has the reputation. Lesson prices are unpublished. Childcare prices are the thing they actually print.
Researched from official pages and 2026 reporting. Fields marked unverified are unpublished by the resort — we will not invent an age, a class cap, or a price.

Childcare
Small World Play School, 24 months–6 years. Full day, ski-day aligned. Published full-day about $277–$305 — play school, not a lesson. Licensed. This is the rare Vail Resorts care product with a number on the internet. Reserve it when you book the unit.
Beginner terrain
- Carpets: Yes, at the kids' campus.
- Learning area: Separated and actually used.
- Greens: Among the best beginner shares of any Colorado flagship we list.
- Progression: Village-to-village as a reward, not day one.
On mountain
You will spend money. The food is the point of some people's trip.
Ski valet culture. It is a luxury product.
Purpose-built, walkable, prettier than Vail Village on a Tuesday.
Non-ski
- Ice rink
- Village stroll
- Avon / Edwards for groceries

Getting there
Eagle (EGE) or Denver (DEN). Transfer: EGE ~30–40 minutes. DEN is 2–2.5 hours.. I-70 still. EGE is the civilized family airport if you can hit the flight. Resort and private transfers. A car is optional if you never leave the village.
