| Family of 4 / day | Ikon days plus Bend lodging. Not Beaver Creek money. | Ikon, or a day trip from Seattle that is cheaper than a flight to Utah. |
Family of 4 / day is lifts + rentals + one group lesson as published on each resort page — not a quote. Lodging we do not have stays blank. We do not invent a number to fill a cell.
Choose Mt. Bachelor if
Families with a non-skier under 5, or Ikon households who can get to RDM.
- A non-skier under 5 who needs licensed care visitors can actually book.
- Ikon households who can get to RDM.
- A Bend week, not a volcano day trip with no plan.
Choose Crystal Mountain if
Puget Sound families with kids who already ski a little, or can learn in a class of four.
- Puget Sound families with kids who already ski a little.
- A class of four for ages 4–6 — published, rare.
- Ikon day trips with Rainier as the backup photo.
The tradeoff
Mt. Bachelor publishes licensed daycare from 6 weeks to 10 years that visitors can book — the widest visitor-facing age range we found — on a volcano with no village. Group min age and class size are Unverified. Crystal publishes group from 4 with a 6-kid cap two hours from Seattle, and no visitor infant daycare. If care is the trip, it is Bachelor. If the drive from SEA is the trip, it is Crystal.
