Family of 4 / day is lifts + rentals + one group lesson as published on each resort page — not a quote. Lodging we do not have stays blank. We do not invent a number to fill a cell.
Choose Northstar California if
Epic families with kids 3–10 who want North Shore calm.
- Epic families with kids who already ski.
- A North Shore base rather than South Lake chaos.
- Anyone using Heavenly as the view and this as the quieter day.
Choose Palisades Tahoe if
Mixed families with at least one expert, and any 4-and-under along for the ride.
- Ikon families with kids who already ski.
- A 4-and-under free ticket next to a parent who can ski Palisades.
- A week split with Northstar or Sierra.
The tradeoff
Northstar publishes group lessons from 3 with a 6-kid cap and a quieter North Shore village — with Minor's Camp still not listed as reopened. Palisades is Olympic scale, unpublished lesson ages (Unverified), and 4-and-under free every day. Family-of-4 math on both pages is pass-shaped, not a window-ticket bargain. If you needed visitor daycare, this is the wrong lake conversation.
